Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.
